Crossing the Finishing Line
It took a long time to get here, but we made it! You can now fight, explore, and survive in the world of GunSpectre!
GunSpectre started off as a hobby project that bore little resemblance to the game you see in front of you today. Many months were spent tinkering and experimenting until we landed on this being a mostly non-linear action game. Locking down an audio and visual style also took quite some time.
Last fall, I was convinced that we were near the end of development. A smaller version of the game world was completed, and we were quietly making plans for release. Around that time, we were approached by Clickteam with an offer to publish and support GunSpectre. Seeing as the game is made with Clickteam Fusion, working with them has been a slam dunk. This gave us the push to make a larger and more polished experience.
I hope this was worth the wait. I won't list off the games that inspired this, but if you like 8-bit action and adventure games from the 80s and early 90s, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Some of you may even experience slight feelings of nostalgia as you make your way through GunSpectre.
I just want to give a huge shout-out to Oleg Klaus for his help with artwork and a mess of other things, J. Snakeman for keeping me on task, Clickteam for their amazing support, and my significant other for standing by as I spent many sleepless nights making this happen. I'd also like to thank everyone else who supported this project and patiently waited for its release. You know who you are.
Thank you so much for playing, and happy hunting!
