The Gentle Art of Making Enemies

Another week down, another week closer to launch!

This week, we cooked up some additional enemies for your fighting pleasure. Even though we had a good variety to begin with, it never hurts to have more, and these last few additions make sense for GunSpectre.

The overall process for adding enemies to GunSpectre is pretty straightforward. It typically starts with a placeholder in a mostly empty space. From there, we work out movements and attacks. One of the fun things about this process is that we often manually control the enemy to figure out the basics.

If everyone is happy with the results, the movements and attacks will be automated, and we'll give the enemy proper visuals. After that, it gets dropped in the game for testing and adjustments. This part of the process can get sticky depending on how complex the enemy is, but we always see it through to the end.

The road ahead is much shorter than the road behind. We hope you're looking forward to wiping out the bad guys when GunSpectre is released in the second quarter!
